The 1943 Council of Allied War Leaders had a dramatic effect upon the lives of the
inhabitants of the South Hams in Devon. By 1944 nearly 2,000 American troops were moved into Salcombe. Civilians were evacuated to establish the Slapton Battle Area. This is the story of the build up to DDay in Salcombe, told in many never before seen photographs.
